Winners Chosen for 2024 U.S. Senior Open Poster Design Contest

Two juniors been selected as winners of the Youth Poster Design Contest for the 44th U.S. Senior Open at Newport Country Club, which will be contested June 27 – June 30.

“This contest is the perfect way to engage kids, not only in the Newport community, but also nationwide,” said Hank Thompson, senior director, U.S. Senior Open. “Congratulations to our creative and talented winners – we can’t wait to share their artwork on-site during the championship for all to admire!”

The winners’ designs will be printed and distributed to juniors who attend the U.S. Senior Open and will be available at a variety of special events leading up to championship week. In addition, winning designs will be uniquely featured on-site at Newport Country Club.

The two winners are as follows:

  • Ishin Fujita, 13, Carmel, Ind.

  • Sai Siddarth Kollu, 10, Pleasanton, Calif.

In its continued effort to support junior access to the game, the USGA will conduct several on-site activities at Newport during championship week:

A 9-Hole Scavenger Hunt will allow juniors to navigate the golf course and experience the championship in an engaging way while in search of clues that lead to a prize that can be redeemed at the merchandise tent.

The on-site USGA Museum Experience will also provide engaging activities for juniors and fans of all ages, including an interactive history table with interactive, hands-on activities like making sand tees, trying out replica putters from the early 20th century, and using play dough and molds to create golf balls.

All youths ages 17 and under receive complimentary admission to the championship with a ticket-holding adult. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Considered the world’s premier senior golf championship, the U.S. Senior Open is one of 15 national championships conducted annually by the USGA. The championship was first conducted in 1980 and past winners include Roberto De Vicenzo, Arnold Palmer, Padraig Harrington, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Tom Weiskopf, Bernhard Langer and Jack Nicklaus.
