Golf Music to Ears of Mid-Am Qualifier Jeffrey Azoff

It’s no secret that musicians love to play golf. The list is several miles long from Alice Cooper, Vince Gill, Colt Ford, Darius Rucker, Harry Styles, Kenny G and Bob Seger. They enjoy a game during the day and perform at night. What a lifestyle. Guys who manage these stars also have a golf passion. Jeffrey Azoff, in fact, dreamed of playing the PGA Tour before joining his famous father, Irving, in the entertainment business. The founder and CEO of Full Stop Management, the younger Azoff currently manages superstars like Styles. His dad managed the Eagles among other bands as well as co-produced classic movies such as “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Urban Cowboy,” while serving as executive producer for “The Hurricane” about prize fighter Rubin “Hurricane” Carter who was wrongly accused of murder. Irving was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as an Ahmet Ertegun Award recipient. Jeffrey, 37, of Los Angeles, Calif., who is a four-time club champion at Riviera Country Club, qualified for the 42nd U.S. Mid-Amateur at Sleepy Hollow C.C. and stroke-play co-host Fenway Golf Club, his first USGA championship. His opening act on Saturday was a bit off key, as his 79 at Fenway would attest. But even though advancing to match play appears slim, Azoff can still come away from this experience on a high note.
